Spirituality for Creating Harmonious Society: Part One
Why Do We Need Interfaith Conversations?
Here’s one response to the question of why we need interfaith conversations offered by His Holiness in the New York Times Op-ed “Many Faiths, One Truth” :
“Tensions are likely to increase as the world becomes more interconnected and cultures, peoples and religions become ever more entwined. The pressure this creates tests far more than our tolerance – it demands that we promote peaceful coexistence and understanding across boundaries,” and “harmony among the major faiths has become an essential ingredient of [this]…for the welfare of humanity as a whole.”
