DESCRIPTION:Join us for a transformative 5-day\, non-residential retreat dedicated to the practice of the 21 Taras led by Venerable Yönten. \nTara\, the swift and compassionate embodiment of enlightened activity\, manifests in 21 distinct forms\, each representing a unique quality to overcome obstacles and awaken wisdom and compassion within. \nThrough guided meditations\, teachings\, mantra recitation\, and visualization\, participants will connect with the energies of Tara to cultivate fearlessness\, clarity\, and loving-kindness. Whether you are new to the practice or seeking to deepen your connection\, this immersive retreat offers a sacred space for reflection\, healing\, and spiritual growth. \nCome prepared to experience the joyful presence of Tara and leave empowered with practices to continue on your path toward greater inner peace and compassion in daily life. \nSCHEDULE: The retreat will begin at 8:00 am daily and end by 4 pm \nLOCATION: Maitripa College\, 1632 SE 11th Avenue\, Portland\, OR 97214 (and online via Zoom_ \nMEALS:  A simple vegetarian lunch is included for onsite participants \nREGISTRATION AND DONATION OPTIONS: \nRegistration is required; please select your donation level from the registration form by following the link on the button (options are based on ability to pay and whether joining in-person or online).  \nYou can choose for the full retreat in person or online.  Alternatively\, you may register for a single day online or in person as follows: \nIn Person Registration: Single Day All Levels ($49). Yönten studied extensively under Gyurmé Khensur Rinpoche Geshe Tashi Tsering (at Chenrezig Institute\, AU) before moving to India to study at Thosamling Institute. In 2012\, she became an accredited In-Depth Registered Teacher with FPMT and was requested to become the Resident Teacher at Kunsang Yeshe Retreat Centre in New South Wales\, Australia. From 2015 onwards\, Ven. Yönten was mainly based in New Zealand at Mahamudra Centre. During that period\, she divided her time between leading retreats in New Zealand and teaching Philosophy at Human Spirit: Buddhist Psychoanalytic Training Program in Israel\, as well as offering classes and retreats in various parts of Europe\, until she moved back to the USA in 2021. Prior to joining Maitripa College\, Yönten-la offered retreats and courses at Vajrapani Institute and Land of Medicine Buddha in California. She also has experience in hospice work and palliative care\, as well as a deep commitment to social justice and a love of animals. Her joy\, wisdom\, and compassion are cherished by all who study and practice with her.
